______________________________________________________________________________ UNIX: Home directory changed from one filesystem to another Q. My home directory has changed from /j/mickey to /l/mickey, and now my scripts that reference /j/mickey don't work. Is this a permanent or temporary switch? A. Permanent, until it changes again. Never refer to your absolute pathname to your home directory, as it changes whenever disk management so requires. That's why the shell's tilde operator is so useful: ~mickey ...always gets you your home directory.
